yo,what's up dawg?i heard about the tourney from some of the players from miami,not orlando/they said that they didn't know that either/that there was no cash prizes/a little upset also/said that they weren't going back up there again either/which sucks for me because i just came back from shoulder surgery and was looking forward to travel and play in orlando,but i hear it over and over again,about the calls ,being made(THE BS ONES)which pisses everyone off and then,boom,there goes your games,the angriness and the frustration,which sometimes it gets to the point you do not want to play/i know how you feel/i do not like to play with the bullshit calls/beat me with the skills/well i hope you change your mind and come down and play on dec 19th/we need different players with different skills to play with us/do not let them get you down/next year i plan on going to ny to play in some of your tournments/hopefully around May/the shoulder should be 95%better then/well again i hope you change your mind and come down and play@sunset park there is no favoritism@ that parkor @hollywood which in my opinion,the best courts by far,so don't let orlando spoile it for us down her at the bottom/also the other problem with the sixth boro,is that it is all combined together,all of florida,which is too much,it should be marked down to different terrorities,so you know which ones not to go,and which ones to go to/we are sorry that you feel that way/it just sucks that florida has a bad name for bad calls,when it is only a handful,that do it,well hit me up,by the way we all don't hate you!

thank you jamie well said you know what im talking about now its the bad calls that keep happening over and over that gets you angry to the point that you feel that it is personal and yes it takes you way off your game how can you focus when points get deducted cause the opposing team told the ref something about the score and everytime you hit a great serve or a shot you get a silly call thats not right and you can see it on the faces of everyone looking like why would he make such a bad call, it happens so so that you dont want to play anymore but no one understands me its i should just shut up and play keep getting jerked and thats it. Honestly I actually convinced pooch to go down there for the 19th cause i know there are great players that want to play us cause i been getting friendly call out that i would like to play but like I said i could stay home and get cheated. Besides ill just stay home and spend time with my girlfriend on that weekend instead of dealing with the stress im sure you guys have great players there but i dont have the strength to go back and possibly endure that again plus that thing with the no payout all i got to say is Bob is my boy I luv you to death but dude you know that was wrong if anything charge for a plate of food do away with the shirts and trophies and just payout i mean come on bob think about if you traveled as far as i did and you won that tournament and that happened to you some of those people couldve been doing better things with their time nobody is driving 6 hours or flying from far for nothing. Now not only no ny players will come back there cause of the first tourney with a broken promise of $5000 BUT THE FLORIDA PLAYERS wont play either a bad rep is not what you want you were wrong you need to admit that say sorry and find a way to make it up to everyone.

IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING, I WAS ABRUPTLY AWAKENED FROM MY SLUMBER. A LUMINESCENT SILHOUETTE HOLDING A FOUR POSTER 1ST PLACE TROPHY WALKED TOWARDS ME.......WITHOUT HESITATION I SAT UP AND ASKED THE MAN, "PAPI, DID YOU WIN?" "YEAH" HE RESPONDED. "BUT CAN YOU F%@&!NG BELIEVE THERE WERE NO MONEY PRIZES?" I JUMPED OUT OF BED AND SAID "WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT YOU SLEPT FOR ONLY 5 HOURS, DROVE 4 HOURS, AND DITCHED YOUR FAMILY THAT IS VISITING FROM NY TO PLAY FOR NO MONEY????" I JUST SHOOK MY HEAD. AFTER PUTTING THAT THOUGHT TO REST, I FELL ASLEEP. BUT THIS MORNING MY BABY RECEIVED MANY TEXTS FROM OTHER PLAYERS THAT WERE QUITE UPSET ABOUT THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT. THERE WERE TEXTS STATING THAT THEY WILL NEVER GO BACK TO SANFORD. STATING THAT IT WAS CHAOTIC. STATING THAT BOB CHEATED TO GET TO 2ND PLACE. BUT THERE WAS ONE IN PARTICULAR STATING THAT MONEY PRIZES WERE SUPPOSED TO BE "PAID TO FIRST 4 PLACES REGARDLESS!" WTF!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU ARE GOING TO THROW A TOURNAMENT THAT DOES NOT PAYOUT
PLEASE DISCLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!
I MEAN, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH "NO MONEY PRIZE" TOURNAMENTS, AS LONG AS THE PLAYERS ARE NOT BLIND SIGHTED BY IT. BUT I GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL DEFINITELY NOT SEE THAT MANY PEOPLE ATTEND IF THAT'S THE CASE. I KNOW THERE WERE PLAYERS THAT DROVE OVER 4 HOURS TOTAL COMMUTE TIME. DO NOT WASTE PEOPLES TIME AND EFFORT. BE COURTEOUS!

PS. LOW, I COMPLETELY AGREE W/ YOU.....I DO BELIEVE THAT THERE SHOULD NEVER BE A/B TOURNEYS...SHIT IS RETARDED!!!!! OPEN DOUBLES ALL THE WAY, BABY!!!!!
DON'T LET THIS WEEKEND'S TOURNEY DETER YOU FROM COMING BACK TO THE SUNSHINE STATE (I EXPECT YOU TO COME BACK NEXT NOVEMBER FOR 2010 KOC). REGARDING BOGUS CALLS AND WHATNOT...THAT HAPPENS IN EVERY COURT NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE AT....JASON BEEN CHEATED SO MANY TIME OUT THERE IN NY, BUT HE STILL COMES OUT.

you know i actually loved your tourney even though i experienced a little of that there also and I cant promise that ill come back but because you asked me with respect and that tourney was well run ill try and see if i could make it. Oh and yes I know how you feel about jason getting cheated on tourneys here in nyc thats why i barely play in them here in ny and i started traveling to florida to play a sport i love thinking the level of cheating couldnt be the same as ny but as i step back and think of every trip i took chula it just keeps getting worse and worse this weekend was the craziest tourney i have ever been at i have never seen anything like it and as you can see nobody wants to go back to that again and i just dont think ill personally come back but your tourney is a year from now so i have time to think about it.

In my opinion Efren you should get on your knees every night before bed and thank Bob who lives and breathes handball, for building an indoor court so you can play any day of the week with out getting wet, and eat drink and be merry. Maybe the format wasn't perfect either in your opinion but next time it will be better. I'm sure everyone will see to that. But it is Bobs house so " When in Rome" And all of you who came from NY, or any where else that wasn't close by, if you were promised cash prizes I'm sorry you didn't get them if in fact that's the case. Bobs a business man and it's all about economics, if the projected amount didn't come in from entry fees or shirt sales etc, then you can't expect him to reach in to his pocket and hand out Benjamin s. Besides all you New Yorkers got out of the cold for a few days. I'm not speaking for Bob I'm just speculating. And as far as reffing this game, forget it. I'm sorry to say this game is what it is. This game has been around since Roman times and hasn't evolved since then. Most of my friends look at this game and marvel at the athletes who play, but laugh at the mentality of it's players as well. And it's hard argue with them. Then I step back and say to myself this is a great game full of attitude and trash talking, and I wouldn't change a thing, and obviously no one else is willing to change it because like I stated earlier nothing has changed since Roman times except the ball. It's not Golf or Tennis it's Handball and it's fine just the way it is. And lastly in my opinion until someone else builds an indoor court in Orlando and puts on their own tournaments, they should be grateful for Bobs efforts, and should be supportive of his efforts no matter how things turn out. This is just one mans opinion.

I COMMEND BOB FOR ALL HIS EFFORTS. HE IS A GREAT GUY...GREAT DOUBLES PARTNER (FLORIDA DREAM TEAM)...I'M JUST SAYING DISCLOSE, THAT'S ALL.....JASON HAD NOTHING TO PROVE....HE HAD HIS PARENTS FROM NY THIS PAST WEEKEND!!! IF HE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT NO $$$ WAS INVOLVED, HE WOULD HAVE NOT ATTENDED.

His place would be useless if it wasn't for the players..... CHECK YOURSELF!!! We appreciate having a place to play when it rains.... but Sunshine is definate in Florida... its just a matter of when.... YOUR STATEMENT only lessens the chance of return or for a first time visit of anyone who reads it.... Cause in your opinion... Everythings OK ... BOB'S HOUSE..... BOB'S RULES..... come on really? ok first off cocoa bill only one person came from ny to play in this tourney me and i came to play with bob but since everyone kept crying that me and bob are to strong i found another parthner. Your arguments are pretty silly it sounds like you are justifying something that just shouldnt have happened in the format that it did and as a result nobody wants to come back to see it get better. Plus shirts werent sold they were given out yes these things cost money i think what bob shouldve done is do away with the shirts or sell them instead and charge for a plate of food or ask people if they can chip in so his pockets wouldnt hurt so much and do away with trophies and just payout cash simple. then the tourney would not have had such negative feedback from the players and would have gotten better feedback other then bad calls and cheating which is not in bobs control. Now a real good business man would move forward in what i have stated and he or she wouldnt break his pockets if he sold plates of food for five bucks and sold the shirts for $15 instead of giving them out and if you cant donate trophies dont do them just give out cash its simple. Oh and we played indoors and it was warmer in NY when i left then it was in florida so why are you acting like it was an chance to go get some warm sun you sound silly stop it.

In my opinion, I want to say that it was a great experience playing on the courts at Bob’s house and his wife was very nice and receptive. It was a great turnout and it was nice seeing everyone and meeting new players. But as far as how the tourney went down, I totally agree with Efren, Chula, and Liana’s (Lee) Blog.

First of all, I felt the tourney was disorganized, deceitful and had countless interruptions. There should have been cash prizes because there was a good crowd and the turnout was great. There were 17 teams which was a substantial amount. So I am kind of perplexed of why there was no pay out. This is the first time I experienced no pay out for a tourney. The tourney was supposed to be broadcasted live and that was not even done. I totally understand that Bob had expenses such as T-shirts, trophies, metals, food and drinks but it did not equal to the registration fees. I totally agree with Efren, 'NO PAYOUT' and you will get 'NO TURNOUT.

Second, the brackets should have been done by someone not playing in the tourney. For example, Chula did the brackets for the Florida King of the Courts tourney. Bob’s brackets were confusing, done behind closed doors, and really not accessible. I only saw the brackets once and there were a bunch of scratches which I had never seen in any tourney. BOB, PLEASE POST THE BRACKETS ON HANDBALL SPACE.

In addition, as far as the BS or counterfeit calls, all players should join the United States Handball Association and get the New and Official United States Handball Association Rulebook so we all can be on the same level instead of going to Angel to confirm a play. If we want to make handball more professional in Florida, the handball directors of every county should get input from Lewis Gonzalez and Hector (The Repoman) of Allentown Handball League. This league is very organized and on point with their league and tournaments.

Finally, like Chula stated “DO NOT WASTE PEOPLES TIME AND EFFORT. BE COURTEOUS!” I was one of those players amongst others who drove three hours or more. We also had expenses such as gas, hotel, food and some us of lost family time and work time. I did not drive all the way up there for a T-shirt. I was expecting cash prizes. It’s disappointing because it was a nice turnout but I just left with a sour feeling. After Bob’s tourney, I feel apprehensive about attending anymore tournaments except for next years Coconut Creek’s Mixed Doubles to defend my title with my partner, Fedx.

Chula and Jason had a nice tournament and that’s the way a tourney should be done!!!

Cocoa Bill…Were you at Bob’s tourney? As far as next time being better, I doubt it because most of us South Florida players will not be attending Bob’s tourney. You will see what kind of turnout it will be.

I FEEL THAT THE FLORIDA PLAYERS DO NOT SUCK BECAUSE MOST OF US HERE ARE ORIGINALLY FROM NEW YORK AND PLAYED AGAINST ROOKIE, ETC. YES, I HAVE PLAYED WITH ROOKIE BEFORE AT MY PARK IN ELMHURST, QUEENS, “BROADWAY PARK.” YOU CAN VERIFY WITH HIM.
